April 28, 2004

As usual, I am going to work now. I am back in the museum today finishing up the work on the A/V system. I’ll be leaving early to get on the road to Charleston for the show tonight with Elf Power and Zumm Zumm. Get your friends together and come on down for the show. You can get more information from The Ectomorphs website at www.theectomorphs.com. Hope to see you there. Anyway, I am hoping to have all of this museum stuff finished today…at least the wiring stuff, so that tomorrow I can just rearrange the control room and clean up the cables. I also need to get started on the operation manual that will go with it. Alright, well the pollen is starting to get to me again so I am going to attack it before I get sick again. Have a good day. Oh yeah. THE ECTOMORPHS ARE PLAYING AT THE VILLAGE TAVERN IN MT. PLEASANT TONIGHT WITH ELF POWER AND ZUMM ZUMM. COME TO THE SHOW!!!

I’m up and about to go to work. Today will mostly be spent over at the Columbia Museum of Art. I am reconfiguring their A/V equipment and writing a manual on how to use it. Basically, they don’t have a full time engineer over there, so I am going to set up their system such that no one can come in and make it a pain for the next person to use the facility. That’s a little scary to me that anyone that has a presentation gets let loose with thousands of dollars of A/V equipment.

After that I will be off to band practice. Tomorrow night is our show in Charleston with Elf Power…Holy crap; I am pretty pumped about it. If you haven’t heard Elf Power, you should. If you haven’t head The Ectomorphs, then plan on being at the Village Tavern in Mt. Pleasant tomorrow night. It is going to be a great show, but pretty packed so make your plans now!

I got a new prototype up for The Ectomorphs website, and think this one is going to work out much better for the band. I was already tired of the other one. That’s kind of the way sites go for me. I do a couple of prototypes and hang with it for a little bit before I get too in depth and then realize I don’t like it. Anyway, the new prototype is completely dynamic and able to be manipulated at any point. I am starting to hear nerds gathering so I will shut it now.

Heading to work now. God only knows what this week has in store. Last week started off great. Test drove a car I was thinking of buying, then the hours got cut and the car was then put into the distant scope right next to all the other shit that I want to get to. Too bad I am walking on a treadmill.

Just chillin out here at the house today. I am heading over to Wal-Mart in a few to buy some oh so evil and corporate items for the continuation of the fatten Jebb up project. Looks like the project is almost over.

It has been a good weekend but too short. I guess that’s the truth for all weekends. I hope to find something out this week as far as my return to finish up school goes. I don’t figure it will be a big deal either way. If I get accepted and I finish then that’s great. I’ll have a degree and still be doing what I already do. If I don’t get accepted then I know what my next move is. Either way, I win. I am not sure if I am definitely going to go back to Charleston or not. I love the place, and every time I go back I am submersed in subtle reminders about why I love it there so much.

I am really pissed about my hours having been cut last week. There are people that work there that always have free time, however they remain full-time and still receive benefits. I am the only official designer there, and they cut my fucking hours. I am now redoing the a/v for the Columbia Museum of Art and I can pretty much guarantee that I won’t see a raise even though that is what I studied in school. My frustration is that I know I am a decent designer, and I have made some good work for these people and my effing hours got cut. Why? Who the hell knows? All I know is that once again, I am struggling to make rent in a fucking shithole while some no-talent assclown has it made. I’m gonna go play some music before I go to the evil corporation where they sell food to the poor rednecks of the world.

Well, well, well. I have finally put some pictures up for March and April. March is a bit of a personal series. As you know, March marked a year since Melanie and I were “officially” over. April’s photos are geared towards my family. My brother is doing well, and the world has recently received good news in the field of Cystic Fibrosis research. My nephew Jebb Garrett Graff is unfortunately afflicted with this terminal disease. He is a trooper though as you will see him climbing that rock wall. Keep praying for a cure, and skip over to Mynx’s blog in the links section to donate to the cause. Otherwise, enjoy the pics and the Saturday. I am going to head over to Girish’s for a little bit then I am back to hang out on the porch for the night. See ya.
