Old idea…new format.

December 27, 2004

So on the old “coffee blog” I mentioned a few posts ago, I had a photo section. Basically it was reserved for non-snapshot stuff. I guess it was meant for more of a gallery purpose than strictly for documenting a moment. Let me get to the point here. I have decided recently to go the way of DeviantArt.com. So, if you want to see some photos go there. I will also be adding that link to the side bar of this site so you won’t forget where to go to see photos and other stuff as time goes on.

It’s been…

December 21, 2004

quite some time since the last post. I am sincerely sorry so suck it up said I (alliteration points: 5). I won’t give the play by play, but I will give the pitch for last weekend.

Girl drives to Charleston. Boy gets off work. Boy and girl buy wedding present for boy’s long lost friend. Boy and girl leave for Fredericksburg VA at 9pm. Boy and girl arrive at 4:30AM, and go to sleep at 6:30AM. They wake and attend long lost friend’s wedding and reception. They leave and drive west to Lexington VA. Dinner and sleep ensue. Boy and girl wake and have breakfast as well as movie script conversation as would be shared by young twenty-somethings. They embark on a cross-town journey to boy’s family grave plots for prayer and memories. After visiting a very good friend of the family, boy and girl, weary and non-sensical, make their way for Charleston. Snow falls on thirsty roadbed, and closure falls on our wondering wanderers. Exactly 1102 miles and 48 hours later…night falls at the same velocity of blankets and eyelids.

More to come…but probably not in the time frame you would like it to. So I am a bad blogger these days. Well read the archives…you will see this is a trend, and you can expect it to increase and decrease with the frequency of pressure changes under a hummingbird’s wings.

Goodnight.

Last weekend.

December 16, 2004
I barreled past the clean citrus glow of every highway rest stop.

Muscles cramped in the onslaught of adrenaline surges.

The six-cylinder pumped refined petroleum.

The four-cylinder pumped unrefined blood.

I took a right at my friends (unknown to them).

And started North on 77.

My back to the wind.

We talked of marriage and rings.

We are a pair unlike others.

You went for an ashtray.

And seated behind you, herbivore Barbie’s chiseled Ken watched your ass with every step you took.

We are a pair unlike others.

When the chair concealed perversion’s temptress – his eyes back on swirling pasta tempest.

Her eyes on croutons made of chocolate and dressing made of gravy – if only.

She’ll see it again later.

This whole ordeal went unbeknownst to you.

And to me? Not one ounce extra of thought.

What I knew is that I missed you for tomorrow today.

Crossing the same compacted tar.

This time against the wind.

Cramps from my gut instead of adrenaline.

A cold-snap bed.

A weekend that happened a year ago.

Tomorrow though…

As you may have noticed, I’ve been on another blogging dry spell. I thought I’d throw out a quick update for my audience whomever you may be. So…if you scroll down a bit and let that eye of yours wander to the left, you may notice that there are more months under the archives title. Yes – as promised, I have pulled over all the old entries from their .txt files and placed them ever so carefully in this here blogger format. If you haven’t been here from the beginning then you may not know what the h-e-double-hockey-sticks I’m talking about. Well, when I first started blogging all the way back on May 29th, 2003 I used my own format. It was this nifty Macromedia Flash based site that dynamically parsed .txt files into the Flash movies via Action Script. This way it could still look the way I wanted it to look, I could post to it from anywhere, and it could remain Flash. Well, for this reason and that, I decided to change my Flash blog into the new and improved Blogger template and what is basically a content management system…no not so much like a sweet ass PHP based one, but damn good for blogging at least. So…some of the archives don’t make sense, and I did not edit the archives to make sense in this format. Hopefully that’ll help explain any questions that may arise. In honor of the old Coffee Blog, I have posted a screen shot below of that very format. So…hoorah for the old format, and goodbye to the Flash doormat.

Go America for life!!!

oops.
