Mr. Riley

April 27, 2007

I had a portrait session with this young fellow on the beach on Kiawah Island after work the other night. He only cried for about two seconds before pulling his hat off and getting back to big smiles and lots of tongue-sticking-out. He and his parents were awesome, and I believe we’ll be getting together again for some more portraits.

In other news…I’ve changed a few things on my new website. After getting reviews from some folks, it seems I liked it better than anyone else which is not always a good thing. I didn’t get any terrible reviews, but I want it to be understandable the first time for everyone. So now “we” are black and white. Maybe one day I’ll vamp up my CSS skills.

In the meantime I’ll stick to my KISS skills…Keep It Simple Stupid.

What the?

April 20, 2007

I’ve gone and done it again. There is a newly designed website at www.jebbgraff.com. It was about time that I gave myself a better online appearance. I kept with the same round-a-bout theme but just tweaked it some. I added portfolios in addition to the print galleries. I like that a little better for getting a general idea from a range of photos instead of having to dig through the print galleries. This way you can also see some shots that don’t say PROOF really big on them. Thanks to Justin for pointing me in the right direction for the lightbox scripts.

There’s some more work to be done to help with load times, but right now I gotta get ready for a weekend that involves three very different sessions.

You Rock!

April 5, 2007

Let’s leave the realm of photography for a moment. For Valentine’s Day this year, I bit the style of a friend of mine and preordered Guitar Hero II for XBox 360 for Jessica. She had played the Playstation version in a store and loved it. I too was impressed, so I made her this card for V-Day.

VDay for Jessica

She was excited, but had to wait for April 3rd for it to be available in stores. I stopped by on my way home and our lives changed that night. That game is so much fun, but I am getting tired of hearing Surrender over and over. Anywho, go get this if you like fun.

Family Weekend

April 1, 2007

Friday was stressful to say the least. One of our family dogs by the name of T-Boneis very sick, and we thought we were going to have to have him laid to rest on Friday. I left work early to go out and be with my parents and T-Bone for his last moments. Fortunately, he showed some signs that were good and he is still here, but still sick. He is a lot happier though.

After that good news came a long, I went downtown with the Wests and we had some family portrait funtime at the battery. We wanted to stay longer and wait for the awesome sunset, but poor Maddox was getting chilly and there were lots of bugs out, so we packed it up and headed out for some grub at T-Bonz of all places. The keepers from the session are posted here, under the name “West”.

While at the Battery, some other photogs were out. I introduced myself to one of them and he promptly offered me a wedding for the following night. I had some plans that I couldn’t get out of, so I couldn’t do it, but I thought it was pretty cool to be offered a wedding just like that.

Yesterday Jessica and I went over to my parents’ for some more time with T-Bone and to drop some stuff off for the oyster roast my parents were hosting last night. There was delicious carne asada, chili, rice, and oysters of course. Oh yeah, and a huge strawberry cake as well as a pecan pie. So far it’s been a great weekend for family and friends. The rest of today should round out quite nicely.
