I’ve been catching up on a lot of old “just for fun” photos lately as well as catching up with an old buddy. I combined the two this past weekend and shot some photos of the old chap downtown. Jay is always up for cameras. So many people are scared to have their picture made, but Jay jumps at the opportunity and has fun with it. Shots for him, fun for me, and catching up.
Jay and I got to be friends way back when. We were in middle school, but I think it’s fair to say that we didn’t really get to be buds until somewhere around the end of our freshman year in high school…or was it the beginning? That’s pretty irrelevant I guess. Anyway, we roomed together some in college and he was my roommate when I first moved back down here after my stint in Columbia. I’m easy to fall out of touch with. I’ve always had a mindset that if people fall out of touch, then they just do. No need to keep everything the same as it always was…nostalgia be damned. Notice I said nostalgia, NOT memories. Memories are very important to me. I just don’t like to try to live in a time that has long passed. People have to grow. I am absolutely happy with bumping into people and socializing. Jay and I have grown into very different people than we were 10 years ago, and I think we are pretty cool with that. I had a blast this past weekend talking music, playing Scrabble, taking photos, general hoop-lah. I’m glad we got the chance. See below for the pics.

These are some shots from a trip to Greenville back around Memorial Day. I’m just now getting around to converting them from RAW. There will be more of these to come, because I flat friggin love animals.

Some general Charleston area pics should make their way here soon too.
Break time is over for me.
