To be continued…maybe.

The weekend before last after shooting the wedding in Beaufort, I headed back south again with my wife and brother in law to Pooler, GA (within spitting range to Savannah). We stayed the night in the Econo Lodge right off the exit which was nice and clean thank you very much. You naysayers can shut it! :) Anyway, we were there because Patrick, my previously mentioned brother in law, was going to be riding his Suzuki GSX-R600 at the Roebling Road Raceway for a track day. I had seen his tank footage from when he rode the Ducati there, but really didn’t have a full grasp of the shear cool I was in for. I ride a cruiser, I like fast but had never given sport bikes much thought. Mainly because there are a plethora of inexperienced jerks that like to show off and put everyone in danger on the streets. Those guys give sport bikes a bad name and could use a track day or two to go fast and learn a thing or two about riding safely. I digress…below are a collection of some of my favorite pics from the day and a few documenting the progress. Later I’ll be posting all of them to the clients section for any of the guys & gals that were there and want to pick up a print of themselves. We may be heading back to do it again in May. I sure hope so.

We all had to sit in on the safety meeting regardless of whether we were riding or crew. Good stuff to know…things can be very unsafe even in the paddock.

The legendary Frank Kinsey delivering the instructions and the funny.

Patrick’s leathers make him look like a storm trooper. I really want him to get a storm trooper helmet.

“I have a really important announcement to make. Cannonball!!!”

Go time.

Get that hand up.

This bike also climbs mountains.

Rain meant we packed it in and went to Bennigan’s for a deep fried sandwich. Sometimes rain is good.

Leigh, Gillian & I packed up and headed down to Beaufort the weekend before this past one to photograph Jay & Chris’ wedding. The details are on Leigh’s blog, so I’ll just post some of my favorites and save the jabberin’!

Got some pretty cool motorsports photos coming your way fairly soon too.

Great Strides Returns!

April 16, 2009

As many of you know, my nephew Garrett has Cystic Fibrosis. You can find out all about the disease at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s website.

Last year my sister started a team for the Great Strides walk for Cystic Fibrosis. You guys came out of the woodwork and helped us reach our fund raising goal and I cannot thank you enough. Money can’t buy a lot of the most important things in our lives, but it is unfortunately very necessary in continuing research and finding a cure for CF.

Times are tight and I’m not asking for much, but any help you can give by sponsoring our team in the walk is greatly appreciated. A cure for CF isn’t too far off. New research and medications are blossoming at unbelievable rates. Please give us a hand if you can and donate to this cause.

My sponsorship page where you can donate.

A smile.

A serious.

Headshot is in quotes because this is really a portrait, but you know semantics and all that.

My friend Brenda gave me a call a few weeks ago with the news that she would be a guest columnist for the Moxie section of Charleston’s Post & Courier newspaper. She was looking for a headshot but not. She wanted a good representation of herself without looking all stiff and 72nd floor of a lower Manhattan money grubbing financial firm. I called her back, packed my gear, and headed to her home for a nice relaxed & natural portrait. What does this have to do with the title “Speedy Recovery”? Read her column and if you’re looking for a helluva good and committed addition to your team “shoot her an ‘e’ and do lunch”!
