In Bittersweet News…

January 13, 2010

I finally sold my favorite car today, Comet.

However, I was happy to be selling it to a sailor here at Goose Creek’s “Nuke” School.

So this’ll be the last post bugging everyone about getting the word out about my car. Comet will be greatly missed. Thanks for the good times and small appetite car-buddy.

This should also the last time I’ll be posting any from this set.

Quickie!

December 31, 2009

Charleston PhotographerThis will be a short post to make an announcement. I’ll be somewhat disappearing from what the kids call the social media for a little while. It’s not a resolution and it doesn’t have a time limit or expiration date. Who knows? I could be back tomorrow.

That being said. The social media that I’m referring to is mainly the big dogs. Facebook & Twitter…probably Gowalla too. Gowalla isn’t really a big dog though I don’t think. I digress…

I’ll still be posting to this blog. I’ll still answer emails. I will definitely return calls and usually answer them. I will also make every effort to meet you in person if you’d like. I’m just a little burned out on all things social media. There isn’t much social about it to be honest. There is a whole lot of fun to be had with it, but right now I’ve got other things on my mind and letting the world know forever that my waiter just said “like” 5 times in one sentence isn’t one of them.

So…if you want or need to get in touch with me, Facebook or Twitter aren’t the places. Check my contact page and drop me a line.

One more thing. My business Facebook “Fan Page” automatically pulls blog posts in, so please don’t leave me comments about how I lied and I’m using Facebook. It was the internet, not me. ;)

The Beatholes

December 28, 2009

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I know I did. However, this post isn’t about that.

The day after Christmas this year, one of my favorite bands of all time got back together for a show. A three set rock, then acoustic, then rock show. It was “An Evening with The Beatholes”. The Beatholes are out of Myrtle Beach, SC. I met them a long time ago when I was in the band Love Apple. We started playing shows together, and as bands often do we and them eventually split and changed members etc. I’ve played in bands with some of their members and always have a blast when I get the chance to hang out with these dudes. They’re good people and phenomenal musicians. My brother-in-law, Patrick, and I climbed into the Mazda the other night and headed on to Myrtle Beach to see this show, and as usual I had my camera in tow. Below are some favorites and a slideshow featuring music by none other than The Beatholes themselves.

All of the photos from the night can be found by clicking through to the “events” section under the “clients>proofs” menu above btw…

Merry Christmas

December 25, 2009

Hey there. I hope everyone has had a very Merry Christmas. Mine has been very chill and relaxed. This isn’t a big wordy post. I just wanted to post a few personal photos I’ve taken between Thanksgiving and now. I’ll be posting a little more about some other stuff in the coming days, but for now, here are some new photos to look at.

I know captions on this blog need some placement and spacing help, but in the meantime, just so you know. Captions are below each pic, not above them. ;)

This one made me sad. I didn’t even see the hook until after the photo was taken.

Stuff For Sale

December 24, 2009

So…I’ve got a few things for sale. The car is still for sale, and I dropped the price again today. We’re now down to $7,500. Check the details here. I’ve also got a Nikon D300 body and a Nikon 17-55mm f2.8 lens for sale. They’re all up on Craigslist too. Please let me know if you’re interested, and please pass this info along to anyone you think may be interested. I’d love to sell everything as quickly as possible. Lots to do in 2010, and ready to get this stuff gone!

D300 Body

SOLD!

I’ve always taken good care of it and it stays in a bag with the body cap on unless I’m shooting with it at a wedding, or in the studio. It’s in great shape and a great performer, but I no longer need it. Everything works perfectly and there are no major scratches or anything like that, but there are a few signs of use, like dust and general smudgey looking wear on the grip material outside. The sensor is currently dust free.

• All original items including a battery come with it in the original box.

There are no scratches on the glass. The photos posted below show some dust and smudges, but not scratches. This lens is very sharp and perfect for any Nikon DX body.
